John O. Leitner, DDS
Dr. Leitner was born and raised here in Grand Haven, MI. After finishing high school he attended MSU for two years. The opportunity to travel was too great for him, so he headed out to Montana via bicycle. While living in Montana for almost four years, he found a job working as a dental assistant for a short time, and then as a dental lab technician. It was during this time that he found he had a strong desire to go into dentistry itself. He received an excellent practical lab education, which is still useful on a daily basis today. He received his D.D.S. from University of Michigan in 1982. Following his degree he worked in several different settings to gather knowledge and skills. He owned a practice in Pennsylvania for five years before coming back home to take over his father’s practice in Grand Haven, MI. With all these different learning situations, he feels he has something unique and positive to offer the community.
In today’s world Dr. Leitner feels it is important to keep a personable office atmosphere, but offer services based on current techniques and technical advancements. His office was the first to embrace surgical microscopes and TekScan occlusal analysis in Western Michigan, and one of the first to offer complete digital records, and Periolase laser treatments. The world is constantly changing and advancing, and he believes continuing education combined with flexibility is important in offering excellent care for his patients.
Dr. Leitner has lived in Grand Haven again since 1990. His wife and two children enjoy keeping him busy with skiing, boating and "kid-stuff!"
Darbee, CDA, RDA, Clinical Team Leader
Darbee has been practicing in the dental field for 28 years and loving it! Darbee has been with Dr. Leitner since November of 2008. She was fortunate enough to experience and learn from a couple of dentists out in New Mexico before returning to Michigan to start a family. She received her license for RDA (Registered Dental Assisting) through Ferris State and Washtenaw Community college in Ann Arbor. The past few years an opportunity through Dr. Leitner’s practice developed, and under the direction of Dr. Leitner, an Interactive Healthy and Unhealthy Mouth Program was designed. With this unique presentation we were invited within the local school district and libraries. This is where my professional passion for healthy thinking can “bloom and thrive”. My professional mission statement is simple- “Patient kindness and education”. I’m a mother of two beautiful daughters and am happy to be raising them here in my home town. My interests are becoming a consciously aware individual. A perfect day for me would be time with my family on the beach.
Michelle, Insurance Coordinator

She is also a huge supporter of local Relay for Life events! Michelle brings great experience to our practice and her expertise is of great value to our patients.

She also enjoys being outdoors, hiking, camping and kayaking. Mary is a delight to have on our team and we are so thrilled she calls our office home!
Francisca, Registered Dental Hygienist
Francisca "Angel" was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, where she completed her Dental degree at the University of Trisakti in 1998. When Angel moved to the United States in 1999, she earned 2 Associate degrees from Lansing Community College where she finished in 2003. Her degrees are in Early Childhood Development and Dental Hygiene (RDH). After she received her degrees she moved to Frankenmuth, MI and than moved again to Lakewood, NY where she worked as a dental hygienist for 10 years. Angel and her family always missed Michigan so when opportunity knocked, it didn't have to knock twice! Angel says her fairtale journey is complete by becoming part of a local dental practice that shares her own patient-centered values and who believes strongly in comprehensive preventative care. She also has volunteered at our local Love, Inc. dental facility. Now Angel is living in Grand Haven with her husband and two children and are busy participating in community & school activites.
